Switch an existing account to the new servers
In Gmail we set accounts up as IMAP. If you have used POP3 so far, set the account up as IMAP here – or call us.

1
Open Gmail. Tap the menu ≡ at the top left, scroll all the way down and tap “Settings”.

Tap the account you want to change.
Do you have several mail accounts in this program? Each one has to be changed separately.
Was this account set up as POP3 so far? Then it cannot be changed to IMAP. Please call us – we will set it up again with you.

- The username must be the full email address, for incoming and for outgoing mail.
- Password rejected? Check upper and lower case. It is your mailbox password – when switching servers, the same one as before.
- Sending does not work? Try port 587 with STARTTLS for the outgoing server.
- A certificate warning almost always means a typing error in the server name.
- Could your program not connect before? Try again after changing the servers.
