Over HyperCard virussen
Ook in HyperCard kunnen virussen voorkomen. Een aantal HC-stacks zijn ontwikkeld die andere stacks op virussen controleren. Met die HC-stacks kunnen gevonden virussen verwijderd worden. Verschillende van die HC-stacks zijn in de PD Disk bibliotheek van de Macclub te vinden. Hierbij stuur ik er nog twee op:
- Virus Warning, versie 2.0, shareware 5$, gemaakt door Matthias Kahlert uit Duitsland. Ik citeer uit de stack:
"I wrote this stack, because I once detected a HyperCard virus on my hard disk. The virus I'm writing about is called "MerryXMas". It is actually harmless, but it is multiplying itself very fast. And it's very hard to get rid of it without any tools like this one. The scripts inside this stacks are warning you, if the virus is detected anywhere. On the other hand this stack lets you disinfect or search other stacks only by clicking a few times with your mouse.
What does the virus do? If you open any stack containing MerryXMas, the virus copies itself into your Home-Stack and from this stack it spreads to all the other stacks you open. And sometimes it suddenly quits your HyperCard application without any warning. But it doesn't delete any scripts or informations!
Surely I will try to hold this stack always up-to-date. If you will ever detect any other HyperCard virus I don't know and which isn't considered in this stack (at the moment I know only one HyperCard virus, and that is "MerryXMas"), please send me a small notice with an example of the virus (e.g. an infected file) to the address mentioned below) and then I will try to expand this utility."

intercepts possible viral infections. It consists of
two modules:
. The Blocker. This stops the replication of many types
of HyperCard viruses.
. The Verifier. This detects modification of stacks
and background scripts, possibly by viruses, and alerts
the user."
