MechSpecs 1.4
This is an Help tool for Games
Mactivity's CD-ROM nr 10 advice: This application did
run on a b/w 68030 processor under System 7.1. It was
also tested on a big ColorScreen of a PowerMacintosh
running The game was also tested on a Quadra with 68040
processor and a 13 inch Color Screen and System 7.1
by Mactivity. 68040 processor.
I wrote MechSpecs as a gaming aid for FASA's BattleTech
game. It allows you to easily create Mechs (large armored
robots) and print out statistic sheets for use while
playing. I think BattleTech is one of the finest stategy/combat
games available and I highly recommend it to anyone
who loves the thrill of gaming. Remember, MechSpecs
is shareware-'nuf said. Upgrades from MechSpecs 1.3
to 1.4:
-I bit the bullet and added the ability to use advanced
equipment. A preferences dialog box allows you to choose
double heat sinks, Endo Steel internal structure, Ferro-Fibrous
armor, and XL engines if you desire.
-MechSpecs will now check to see if you exceeded the
allowable maximum of critical spaces (in addition to
engine rating and armor value).
-Better "Look and Feel" (new positive feedback
buttons).
-Dynamic index on Intro card (click a name to go to
the card).
-Added a convert dialog box for those of you running
under HyperCard 2.0.
-Help and critical space fields now look like real windows.
-Exiting Mech help returns you to the Mech card where
help was accessed.
Upgrades from MechSpecs 1.2 to 1.3:
-Eliminated the menu bar in hopes of eliminating the
tendency to create and delete cards without interacting
with MechSpecs. This could cause MechSpecs to lose
track of which internal diagrams went with which external
diagrams. It also bought two more equipment spaces
on the tables.
-Different ammo specification formats sometimes caused
an error. I've added some guidelines in the help file
and, even if the ammo name doesn't follow these guidelines,
you won't get an error.
-Added a feature that puts a "?" into each
rear armor slot (as a reminder).
-You now return to the last accessed design card when
clicking the blueprint icon on a specific mech card.
-Added the capability to create and delete equipment
tables. However, only one table may be used at a time.
For those of you awaiting "Dungeon Mastery 2.0":
It is currently undergoing play testing and should be
available in a matter of weeks. It is my most ambitious
project to date and will leave any other computer AD&D
gaming aid in the dust (including the original "Dungeon
Mastery")!
