A little bit of history...

The Offline-Age

Mac 128k

Since 1984 our team already works in the digital work. Apple introduced the Macintosh computer in that year and we started the first electronic magazine about the Mac. This grew into the largest Macintosh user group in Europe with more than 16,000 members - mostly in the Benelux countries (Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg) and later also in Scandinavia.

For more than 10 years we ran a Macintosh hotline where people could ask everything about their favorite platform. Usually the solution to the problem was found within minutes. Other activities of that club included publishing of Mactivity books and CD-ROMs, reviews and compatibility tests of thousands of programs, annual MCB conventions in Antwerp (Belgium) with more than 10,000 visitors, a huge library of public domain programs, etc.

In 1986 we installed one of the first bulletin board systems in Belgium which grew to several multi-line systems in 3 different countries over the years with gateways to other BBS systems around the world.

During those years our team also provided a free worldwide anti-virus update service for the then popular Disinfectant program.

The Online-Age

As you can probably tell from our offline history it's quite clear that sooner or later we wanted to get onto the Internet and use our know-how in the online world.

We chose sooner rather than later...

We are proud that Euregio.Net is a healthy enterprise with a fully deposited share capital of 150,000 EUR and already profitable since 1998. Continuity, steady growth, excellent customer service and the right partners are very important to us. We've invested more than 550,000 EUR into our Internet infrastructure. As a client, you deserve a state-of-the-art platform to run your successful online venture!

ISPA

Since the beginnings of the Internet in Belgium, we've tried to be actively involved in the Belgian online legislation. Euregio.Net is a founding-member of the Belgian ISPA(Internet Service Provider Association) and collaborated with the Department of Justice as well as the Department of Telecommunication to create a code of conduct for ISPs in Belgium. This code of conduct has been signed by all serious ISPs and led to the creation of an official contact point for child pornography and online abuse. Already in 1996we launched a web site about child protection.

Euregio.Net participates in various national and international projects. As a consultant we help to develop a curriculum for students who would like to become a certified European E-Commerce Assistant (EECL).This project is part of the European Leonardo da Vinci pilot projects. Our partners in this task are universities, colleges and Chambers of Commerce and Industry from Ireland, The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany,Austria, Sweden, Poland and Slovakia. A side effect of EECL is that we now have an even deeper knowledge about the European e-commerce legislation.

There are also some cross-border activities on a smaller scale: for many years we've provided support for the Euregiochambers - the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Euregio - and also host the web site of the Euregio Meuse-Rhine.

Domain Ethix

We have a lot of experience in fighting against and analyzing many criminal activities on the Internet such as privacy violations, domain grabbing, cyber squatting, copyright infringements, hacking and cracking. Through Euregio.Net's involvement in the development of the"DNS Code of Conduct" and the "Domain Ethix"quality label we are able to assist our clients in any situation that might arise. Our longstanding background in the Internet access business is also beneficial in those circumstances.

We are more than happy to pass on the information about the European Internet legislation to our clients. If you need a competent partner who helps you to stay on the safe side of the law, then please do not hesitate to contact us.

Euregio.Net received a lot of public attention nationwide because we provide the daily weather photos from our region, the Ardennes, to the national Flemish TV station.

Our company is also well-known on the International market and especially North America through our EasyScopes Entertainment Network. Those sites were started in 1996 by one of our co-founders and have steadily risen to the most popular entertainment sites for teenage girls and young women. At one time, the network was ranked at position 417 of web properties world wide. That's a lot of pageviews and visitors per day. We use the experiences and know-how from those operations to help our clients to achieve their goals. It provides a fast-track to promote our clients to a global audience.

As you can see, our activities and know-how are very broad which allows us to give you personalized all-round service that meets your needs. Our multi-lingual staff will discuss and analyze your projects in German, French, Dutch or English.
